Anointed a Cryptozoologist
The most common definition that I have seen on “cryptozoology” is the pseudoscience that studies the existence of unproven or unsubstantiated creatures. Furthermore, a partial list of creatures falling under this pseudoscience would include:
- Bigfoot – mostly reported in the US and Canada
- Yeti – kind of like Bigfoot, but white and mostly reported near Himalayan mountains
- Mothman – most common accounts are from Point Pleasant, West Virginia https://travelingwithpt.com/point-pleasant-wv/
- New Jersey Devil – strange little creature reported in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia area
- Chupacabra – nasty dog like thing mostly around sourthern USA and Central/Southern America
- Loch Ness monster – of course, Scotland’s favorite sea monster of Loch Ness
Fortunately, you can not get a PhD or any accredited degree in cryptozoology. Furthermore, I think we are on the honor system to determine your professional status in the field. As such, I have already traveled to Point Pleasant, WV, to do a post on Mothman (check out link above). Secondly, in the past 6 months, I have visited the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine. Finally, I have also visited one of the premier Bigfoot research centers in Georgia. Certainly, my cryptozoological credentials are noteworthy. Therefore, I think its clearly appropriate that I should be anointed a Cryptozoologist.
Now, as the foremost Cryptozoologist in my neighborhood, I urge you not to miss this Saturday’s post. We will start our cryptozoological series with the most American of all crypto creatures…BIGFOOT. Are you willing to believe? PT
