Traveling with PugsleyTonks

What is Traveling with PugsleyTonks all about?? My goal is the pursuit of that little slice of Americana. It's not big name or high-cost tourism. PugsleyTonks likes to find that diamond in the rough or go to the out of the way small town. I want to visit the oldest bar in every state with hopes that they serve some PBR on tap. Find that unique "ma-pa" restaurant with an interesting blue collar atmosphere and large portions to match. Or, perhaps its as simple as a little walkabout in the city to discover that strange little statue or other oddities. So, please come and join me in my search for Americana. Discover some obscure attraction or learn some useless information. All are welcome and its really just good, clean travel fun. PT

ANSWERING CHALLENGE #8 – Arbor Day Edition

Hopefully, you had a wonderful, quarantined Arbor Day. I will try to make your life easier by dialing back the degree of difficulty on this tree CHALLENGE. This CHALLENGE is too easy to bug you with clues. In honor of Arbor Day…

What tree am I?

CHALLENGE #8 Answered…

Well, another Arbor Day has come and gone…and so has Challenge #8. Its hard to tell if no one knew the answer, or you were just too apathetic to write an answer in the COMMENT section. Anyway, it could be said that I cheated a bit on this one. Some may say that I was stretching the definition of “tree” when I used this picture. But, its an iconic tree…someone should have known the answer.

Let me provide the answer this way…

If Cinderella’s castle is the iconic symbol of Disney’s Magic Kingdom…and the big ball thing is the symbol for Epcot Center…then the Tree of Life is the equivalent symbol for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park…

I am not a big fan of Disney World and that whole region down there, but I only have so many tree pictures…so I had to go with this one. The tree is in the heart of the Animal Kingdom park. It actually has a large theater inside of it where they run some 3D movie related to the movie “A Bug’s Life.” According to Disney info, the tree is supposed to be a baobab tree. This baobab tree is a bit unique, as it actually has a whole host of animals sculpted into its bark…

Again, I am not a big Disney World fan, but there is no denying the scale and detail of Disney magic. And that is the Tree of Life. PT
