Traveling with PugsleyTonks

What is Traveling with PugsleyTonks all about?? My goal is the pursuit of that little slice of Americana. It's not big name or high-cost tourism. PugsleyTonks likes to find that diamond in the rough or go to the out of the way small town. I want to visit the oldest bar in every state with hopes that they serve some PBR on tap. Find that unique "ma-pa" restaurant with an interesting blue collar atmosphere and large portions to match. Or, perhaps its as simple as a little walkabout in the city to discover that strange little statue or other oddities. So, please come and join me in my search for Americana. Discover some obscure attraction or learn some useless information. All are welcome and its really just good, clean travel fun. PT

CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE #3

This is the third challenge in the ongoing Traveling with PugsleyTonks series. Not only is it the third challenge, but its a triple header. PugsleyTonks challenges you with the following questions…

  1. What is that strange barrel apparatus featured by the beautiful Carol Merrill?
  2. In what iconic location is the strange barrel apparatus located?
  3. And for you old folks, who the heck is the real Carol Merrill?

Remember, as with all my challenges, put your answers in the comment box at the very bottom of this post. Every time we do this, I am always surprised by how many people look at the post but take no guesses. Have some courage people…take a guess. You do not have to leave your name…or better yet…please make one up. I will wait a few days before revealing the answers. Good luck. PT

Hmmm, red, white and blue barrel. I will go with a rodeo barrel or an oil barrel. Carrol Merril is Monty’s best friend. When you share, will I be “barreled” over with the answer?

For a clue, I tried to read the words on Martha’s tag, but was unsuccessful.

Speaking of reading, I had plans to begin reading a book about sinkholes, but they fell through.
