Traveling with PugsleyTonks

What is Traveling with PugsleyTonks all about?? My goal is the pursuit of that little slice of Americana. It's not big name or high-cost tourism. PugsleyTonks likes to find that diamond in the rough or go to the out of the way small town. I want to visit the oldest bar in every state with hopes that they serve some PBR on tap. Find that unique "ma-pa" restaurant with an interesting blue collar atmosphere and large portions to match. Or, perhaps its as simple as a little walkabout in the city to discover that strange little statue or other oddities. So, please come and join me in my search for Americana. Discover some obscure attraction or learn some useless information. All are welcome and its really just good, clean travel fun. PT

CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE – Name that Bridge

Small, but significant

At least annually, I drive my beloved wife, Carol, back to see her mother in the New England area. As the super sensitive husband that I am, I allow my wife to visit with her mom without the distraction of having me around. Typically, I drop her off at her mom’s, then I drive off to wander that corner of our nation. In this year’s visit, I was able to visit a part of our nation never before visited. Among other things, I was interested in two very historically significant bridges in that area. Although these bridges are quite small in stature, their history is highly significant. So, without further adieu…

Name that Bridge

Actually, getting the proper name of the bridges is next to impossible. Rather, just tell me the historically significant event that happened at each bridge…

Bridge #1

Bridge #2

If you wish to “Name that Bridge” or just speak to each’s historical significance, please put your answers in COMMENTS section below. Please return to my blog this Saturday morning. I will give you the answers to the CHALLENGE plus a wee bit more. Have a wonderful day. PT
