CHALLENGE – ANSWERED…Ralph Baer
Its Ralph Baer, of course. Perhaps, Mr. Baer is not the household name that he deserves to be. After his family came to America to flee the Holocaust, he eventually ended up in Manchester, New Hampshire. In Manchester, he worked his life in the technology industry. In the mid 1960s, Mr. Baer was the first to start investigating the possibility of using televisions for interactive use. His invention…The Brown Box…was the first interactive game system, called Magnavox Odyssey. This system is essentially the precursor to all video games that followed.
If you ever find yourself in Manchester, NH, go down to the walkways along the beautiful Merrimack River. You will find Baer Square. In the square, you can sit with Ralph and thank him for his life changing invention. Thank you Ralph. PT

ORIGINAL CHALLENGE
In a past post, I celebrated the birthday of one of America’s greatest inventors, Philo Farnsworth
https://travelingwithpt.com/happy-birthday-philo-farnsworth-%f0%9f%8e%81/
The early work of Philo led to the invention of the television. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest gifts ever given to human kind. Well, I don’t know if this great man rates above Philo, but he is certainly in the discussion. Sitting in a park named after him, this man humbly holds his invention all day while watching the Merrimack River flow by.
So, in tribute to his greatness, I offer this CHALLENGE…
Name this Great Man! and…
What was his world changing invention?
As always, please put your answers in the COMMENT section below this post. Have a great day. PT
Ralph Baer!
I’ll take a guess with Ralph Baer… think he passed away and remember article on him inventing game consoles
