Traveling with PugsleyTonks

What is Traveling with PugsleyTonks all about?? My goal is the pursuit of that little slice of Americana. It's not big name or high-cost tourism. PugsleyTonks likes to find that diamond in the rough or go to the out of the way small town. I want to visit the oldest bar in every state with hopes that they serve some PBR on tap. Find that unique "ma-pa" restaurant with an interesting blue collar atmosphere and large portions to match. Or, perhaps its as simple as a little walkabout in the city to discover that strange little statue or other oddities. So, please come and join me in my search for Americana. Discover some obscure attraction or learn some useless information. All are welcome and its really just good, clean travel fun. PT

CHALLENGE

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

It’s all about Family, Food, Football, and Frenchies

As I warned you, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I could give thanks for many, many things. So, I will spare you my entire list. Instead, I will focus on one family member who is spending her first Thanksgiving outside of a puppy mill. My rescue Frenchie, Bella, is anxiously awaiting her opportunity to beg for all the Thanksgiving goodies for the first time. If that is not enough to think about, she also got a new coat in preparation for THE GAME on Saturday. This is going to be a big weekend for Bella.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

Oh Yeah, the answers to the CHALLENGE…Where’s Carol

Now that you have suffered through my salute to my dog and Thanksgiving, I promised you answers to this week’s CHALLENGE…WHERE’S CAROL.

#1. Key West, Florida…Carol is at the beginning of the east coast US Highway 1. US-1 goes up the east coast 2,370 miles to terminate in Fort Kent, Maine, just below the Canadian border. It’s definitely a blog priority to get a picture of Carol at the Maine end of US-1.

#2. Washington, D.C…Specifically, Carol is in the National Statuary Hall within the U.S. Capitol. It should be known that her tour was well before January 2021. She properly paid to be in the Capitol. She did not pummel or bear mace any Capitol police to stand by Samuel Adams.

#3. Chicago, Illinois…Specifically, that would be towards the end of the Navy Pier. At the very end of Navy Pier there is a great statue to TV legend Bob Newhart. As he was a psychologist, it’s a couch with Bob at one end. You can sit at the other end and tell him of all your problems.

#4. Dallas, Texas…This was the tough one. To get it, you need to see the giant eyeball in the background. The eyeball is my favorite Dallas “art” installation.

Once again…Happy Thanksgiving
