I hope you have read my blog enough to realize when I label this category “FINE DINING”…I do not mean fine dining in the traditional sense. Absolutely not. Rather, it’s something much better. By FINE DINING, I mean it in PugsleyTonks sense. PugsleyTonks is about unique, interesting, and fun dining establishment that still serve lots of high quality, hearty food. And no place better introduces this category than Hillbilly Hot Dogs.

You are not going to accidentally drive by HBHD. It’s near a town called Lesage, WV. Lesage is not close to anything. HBHD is along the Ohio River on the West Virginia side. Put Hillbilly Hot Dogs in Google maps…then if you are ever within an hour of this place which is not easy to do, it is worth the drive.

How to concisely describe HBHD Hot Dogs?? It’s a classy kind of junkyard…spruced up a bit to include a notable hot dog stand. They even have an indoor dining room…well its actually an abandoned school bus, but I liked it. It even has a wedding chapel if the need arrives. This is a place to put on a serious eat. The featured picture is the “Homewrecker.” It weighs about 4 pounds and if you “git-r-done” in under 12 minutes, you get a Homewrecker t-shirt. If you beat the record holder (less than 3 minutes), its free. I ordered it…ate about half…and my wife and I enjoyed the other half for dinner that night.

HILLBILLY HOT DOGS is truly quest worthy FINE DINING. PT
